Weekend Reading 10.02.2020
Hello! It’s been a minute. When I re-vamped this blog I made it a goal to get at least one new blog post that wasn’t this one up each week – but clearly, this week got away from me. The past couple of weeks have been rough, I’m not going to lie. Between finding out our building is being sold and the stress that comes with multiple interested buyers traipsing through our apartment during the pandemic, and a major water main break in our basement last weekend… and getting a gnarly cold (thankfully not COVID, but colds still suck, even in the midst of a pandemic), and starting a new job, life has felt FRAZZLED. But thankfully things are feeling slightly better, not 100%, but getting better.
We wrapped up this week with a stay at Huttopia in New Hampshire, which couldn’t have come at a better time with the water main break and all the stress we’ve been under. Life can just be overwhelming sometimes, but driving around and looking at foliage in October and then camping sure helps the situation. My first week with work went well, too. I’m a contractor, so my schedule is fairly flexible, but it’s been more of a process than I expected to get used to checking in with coworkers and navigating someone else’s needs again - but I’m so thankful to be working again and on more of a schedule! This weekend we’re helping my mom with some stuff around her property and planning on apple picking and taking some photos for upcoming projects on Sunday. I hope you have something relaxing in the works! xo
ICYMI: Last week’s Weekend Reading
Did you watch the first presidential debate? I didn’t but caught up on the shitstorm afterward. This moment was the clincher for me and the most telling of character.
For fans of true crime and Maine: a 27 year old cold case puts familial DNA on trial
Now that the weather is cooling again (we had the expected “second summer”), I’m officially shopping for sweaters and have my eye on this cozy fisherman’s sweater (perfect for layering over dresses) and this chunky cardigan
Have you seen the Half-Baked Harvest x Etsy collection? It’s so good! This candle sounds divine and I’d love to give this recipe stand as a gift - holiday perfection
Rhianna, making the case for the return of the fashion mullet (remember those?). But seriously. I don’t hate it.
Love following Tieka’s Upper Penninsula adventures and this outfit and location is just perfection!
Ohh, I’m loving the muted tones of this tie-dye top. This oversize tie-dye hoodie is great too, and love this tie-dye long sleeve
I’m almost done with this book and I think it was my favorite I’ve read this year – so damn good! I want more! I want a movie! (I think I’m reading this thriller next)
Ohh these oatmeal cream pie cookies look so good!
Ha! This print is perfect for Halloween (and cat lovers)
