Weekend Reading 1.7.24

The road to my mother’s, always a favorite view

Happy Sunday! It’s finally snowing! It’s been such a dry winter so far, I’m so excited to finally have some snow on the ground. This first week of January was spent recovering from Covid and generally trying to come back to life after feeling so awful the last week of December. January is always a time when i just want to hunker down and work on house projects – I’ve been doing a lot of organizing, etc – after the whirlwind of the holidays, it feels good to embrace an empty schedule and set the tone for a new year. Today’s project is taking down the Christmas tree and getting the apartment in order, and going out in the snow because it’s beautiful! Have a cozy Sunday! XX

  • After overwhelming feedback that A Little Life is absolutely devastating, I set it aside for now and started The Hacienda, which I’ve wanted to read for a while. I’m enjoying it so far! It’s classic gothic horror set during the overthrow of the Mexican government.

  • I’m also listening to The Body Keeps the Score. I’m finding myself wishing i had the physical book, though, because I’m taking notes and wishing it was easier to go back a page or two, etc.

  • It may be snowing outside, but Sezane’s new arrivals are making me so excited for a new lighter, brighter season! I’m eyeing this classic striped shirt.

  • An English garden in winter - gorgeous!

  • J.Crew is having a (rare) cashmere sale. I’ve been wanting a sweater set and have my eye on this one, in pink of course. (Also select sale items are up to an EXTRA 70% off)

  • How to worry less and be happier

  • Did you watch Saltburn? I feel like it was a less successful Talented Mr. Ripley - but these Saltburn theories have me rethinking it.

  • How to shop for vintage dinnerware

  • The Everlane sale is still happening and I’m finding it very hard to resist this happy striped sweater - it looks so cozy!
