Weekend Reading 9.4.2020
Hello! Pals, does it feel great to be BACK and chatting with you from this brand new space. It’s been so long! First, a HUGE ENORMOUS THANK YOU to everyone who made the launch of this site and my Instagram handle change go so smoothly. I’m feeling so loved and supported… this community is truly something else. Thank you for being here ❤️
Like pretty much everyone, I can’t believe it’s September. And Labor Day weekend for that matter. Chris and I have been keeping a low profile on the weekends over the past several months. Living in a state – and city – where the economy is driven by tourism is crazy under normal circumstances, but with the pandemic going on… it’s been… especially wild. No shade to visitors from out of state, as long as rules and protocols are being followed, but Portland has been filling up on the weekends and getting a little too packed for our comfort zone. So we’ve been spending a lot of distanced time at my mom’s and a little further inland – lots of hiking and paddling in out-of-the-way spots. This weekend is shaping up to be a real thriller: We’ll be helping my mom scrape her house to get it prepped for painting. Hoping we’ll get some time on the water too, fall is coming on fast but I want to get a little more summer in before it ends!

OK, last one, West Elm is having their buy more, save more sale! We need a couple of lamps for our place, so I’m eyeing this mid-century desk lamp and this low-key floor lamp. Also eyeing up these pretty wine glasses.
OK, we’re gonna get the real important stuff out of the way first. Do you have your voting plan sorted out for this November’s election? Please PLEASE take a moment to check your registration and make your plan to ensure your vote is counted.
Second, have you read the latest about what 45 has said about veterans and service members? Truly dispicable but not surprising.
I always love seeing what people are reading/have read. If you’re looking for a new book to read, these 20 book recommendations from Joanna are a great place to start! And here’s the first list
I found Alicia’s blog through Jess Ann Kirby and am loving it! If you’re outside of New England, her leaf-peeping trip ideas are great (note: need to take an Asheville trip sometime!)
Thinx just launched the Boyshort in a gorgeous blue color! Remember, you can save $10 off your first order if you shop through my Thinx Leader's bio!
Looking for a fun long weekend DIY? Try this DIY rainbow dyed bag or take on this major colorful desk for two from Rachel.
What is fashion right now? I’ve been enjoying reading The Cut’s “The Lost Season” coverage of what designers have been up to during the pandemic, and hoe their perspectives have changed.
If you’re feeling as though you’re running out of TV, here’s 20 things to watch this fall
