Hello! Pals, does it feel great to be BACK and chatting with you from this brand new space. It’s been so long! First, a HUGE ENORMOUS THANK YOU to everyone who made the launch of this site and my Instagram handle change go so smoothly. I’m feeling so loved and supported… this community is truly something else. Thank you for being here ❤️

Like pretty much everyone, I can’t believe it’s September. And Labor Day weekend for that matter. Chris and I have been keeping a low profile on the weekends over the past several months. Living in a state – and city – where the economy is driven by tourism is crazy under normal circumstances, but with the pandemic going on… it’s been… especially wild. No shade to visitors from out of state, as long as rules and protocols are being followed, but Portland has been filling up on the weekends and getting a little too packed for our comfort zone. So we’ve been spending a lot of distanced time at my mom’s and a little further inland – lots of hiking and paddling in out-of-the-way spots. This weekend is shaping up to be a real thriller: We’ll be helping my mom scrape her house to get it prepped for painting. Hoping we’ll get some time on the water too, fall is coming on fast but I want to get a little more summer in before it ends!
