Weekend Reading + 2020 Black Friday Sales

Happy Friday! I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving or Thursday, depending on where you live and how you choose to celebrate. Chris and I stayed home as planned. I ran a virtual 4-miler for Seeding Sovereignty, we made a bunch of food, and we decorated for Christmas. We picked up our Christmas tree on Wednesday and spent yesterday afternoon getting festive. It’s early for us, but also, why not? I think this may be our new tradition – I’m not a huge fan of Thanksgiving anyway, especially considering the history of the holiday, so taking the day to cook good food and kick off the holiday season feels like a good way to spend it, along with taking some time to read and learn more about indigenous history. I actually love seeing holiday decorations and lights going up so early - out on my run in the cold rain yesterday, seeing holiday lights just made me happy and brightened up what would have otherwise been a very dreary run. Today I’m doing a little Black Friday shopping online and this weekend we’re considering driving up to Acadia for the day. No snow on the ground yet, so a little off-season day trip sounded like a nice way to get out before the snow flies and we inevitably hunker down even more for the winter. Have a lovely one, friends. XO
