Over the Weekend: A Warhol Date
This was something we had attempted to do last weekend, see the new show at the Warhol- Regarding Warhol-but it just didn't happen. Yesterday was much more motivating though, with the sun shining and relatively mild temperatures, so after a big breakfast at home Chris and I headed over to the North Shore. The show was amazing, and if you have a chance to go, I highly recommend it. It was, once again, a reminder that I need to be creating more, making more. Seeing all of those artists that I admire so much in one place- Cindy Sherman! Kara Walker! Jeff Koons!- brought me back to college when I could pour over their work for hours, and was so motivated to create work of my own. I picked up a pamphlet for the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts- has anyone taken classes there? I'm interested. We made sure to take a photobooth photo, for the collection. It's hard to believe that it's been nearly a year since we last took photobooth pics, when we lived in Massachusetts we made almost weekly visits to the booths over in Salem when they were open.
Afterwards we strolled around for a bit and watched the geese (I really don't like geese), and attempted to take outfit photos. But once Chris requested I do ninja moves, it was all over. Give me a deserted alley and a request for any kind of "moves" and I can guarantee the photos won't come out. And yeah, I know, any ninja caught doing this shit (sorry) would be dead in a second. Stealth is not my strong point.
(If you can see past my moves and you are wondering what I'm wearing: The jacket is Dear Creatures, my shirt is American Apparel, my jeans are Madewell, Converse sneaks, thrifted Coach bag, and KVT scarf)
