NYC in Pictures: Part 1

Phew! I admit to being totally off my game this week, blame it on the cold/flu I've had, being away, winter blues, or what-have-you, it's definitely affected my blogging routine. Sorry about that. Anyway, as most of you know I was away last week in New York for the IFB conference. I was lucky enough to head down a little early with Jen and Punky to spend some time in the city before the big conference. I love wandering around new cities, even though trudging through the cold and wind is probably to blame for my illness, oh well, it was fun!
On Tuesday we had a free day, so after having breakfast at our hotel our first order of business was to hit up the LF sale! Jen and I bought almost matching Matiko shoes and Punky nabbed a sweater. After not shopping for three months, it was weird to spend money on something. After shopping we ate a serendipitous lunch. I say serendipitous because if we hadn't had lunch at Le Petit Cafe, we wouldn't have seen Lady Gaga at Chanel! Her SUV pulled up right outside of the cafe, and we later spotted it outside Chanel, of course we had to check it out. And be creepy and take photos outside. and subsequently get shooed away by her bodyguard. It was neat, the only "celebrity" I've ever seen was Stephen King who used to come through my line when I lived in Maine and worked at a grocery store. Definitely not as exciting as Lady Gaga!
After our Gaga gawking, we had one other shopping destination on our list: Beacon's Closet in Williamsburg! Even though the prioces can be high, I always end up finding something cute. This time did not disappoint, I came out with a leopard collar, cute summer dress, and 70's sunglasses. On our way there we ran into the very sweet and lovely Pamela from Market Publique who invited us to her studio!
We had such a great time playing dress up, trying on shoes, and generally being super girly. The girls of Market Publique are some of the warmest and most generous I've met. They showed us around the studio and even invited us to each pick out an item. I nearly died when I uncovered a pair of 70's blue velvet pants, which the incredibly stylish Erica of Hold My Gold gifted me. I can't wait to style them!
My finds for the day: Velvet pants, A rosy dress, vintage leopard collar, 1970's sunnies, Matiko boots, and cozy socks.
All photos except rows 1,2,&10: Punky
I'll have a re-cap of IFB tomorrow, so definitely stay tuned! A HUGE thank you to Pamela and Erica, you both were too kind to us! Also thank you to Swap.com and the Swapaholics for hosting us in New York. If you're interested in attending a Swap event, visit the events page to see if one is coming up near you!

Hope you're having a great Wednesday!
